As all seniors applying for national level camps should already know, interviews are this Satuday February the 7th at 0900h.

Here are a few things to remeber...

When?
February 7th 2009 (For PPS, GPS, SLC, AAT-AO, AAT-AM and AIC candidates)
February 21st 2009 (For IACE and home-schooled candidates)

Where?
-For PPS, GPS, SLC, AAT-AO, AAT-AM and AIC candidates, Niagara Falls - Optimist Youth Park (here at the squadron)
-For IACE and home-schooled candidates, 4900 Yonge Street in Toronto

Who?
-2 or 3 people form the Interview Board
-For PPS and GPS there will be one Gliding Centre CIC Officer
-Officers from the Air Cadet League of Directors and Detachment and RCU(C) will also participate

How Long?
-12 to 15 minutes
-The interviews are longer for those cadets applying for more than one national course, and those applying for IACE

Procedure:
-Interviews must be in person (unless given other instructions)
-Be in full uniform
-Knock on door, request permission to enter
-Salute at the door and wait until you are offered a seat
-Remove headdress while you are seated
-Remember to act comfortable and relaxed
-Maintain respect and decorum
-Be prepared to say some things about yourself
-Keep up on the news, know some geography, know about your squadron, the Air cadet League of Canada, Canadian Government, etc. (For those on the PPS and GPS course be prepared for questions about Theory of Flight and Civil Aviation.
-Be ready to give reasons for your motivation and interest in this course
-When the interview is done: stand, replace headdress, salute, and smartly depart the room
-If the Board members don’t offer to shake your hand then don’t. Let them decide.

Scoring:
After you leave, the Board will give you marks for: general knowledge, course knowledge, attitude, motivation, ability to express yourself, Squadron contributions, uniform appearance and bearing.


PLEASE NOTE:

-January 16th is the deadline for national course applications
-Selections are announced via an email to your detachment in mid-late March
-June 1st is the last day for Medical Certificates and other outstanding documents to be submitted
-June 30th is the last day for Pilot Scholarship and IACE fees to be invoiced by OPC
-MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE EVERYTHING AND THAT EVERYTHING THAT REQUIRES A SIGNATURE IS SIGNED!
