A Note For Standing Still Over Long Periods Of Time...
I’m sure that many people that participated in the remembrance day parade may have felt woozy (like you were going to faint), your feet may have cramped or you may have just been itching to move.
A simple thing that often helps with this is simply (and discreetly) wiggling your toes and squeezing your fists. These simple movements are great to keep blood flowing (increasing alertness and the ability NOT to pass out), as well as nobody will notice these movements when you are standing at attention. It is important to wiggle your toes because it is the most surified way to keep yourself standing at a parade. Be sure not to make your movements obvious. NEVER yawn on a parade square (YES it is very possible to hold back a yawn). Take advantage of knee bends (when they are given). ALWAYS EAT BREAKFAST!! Avoiding milk products before parades is a good idea as they tend to curdle in your stomach when you stand around for long periods of time.
